  1. (I attached the image file below.)

    sony ccd-sc7 Hi8
    TBC(x) DNR(x) (Not seen in the manual or menu.)

    sony ccd-trv67 Hi8
    TBC(o) DNR(o)

    -workflow-
    camcorder s-video -> gv-usb2 capture card -> AmarecTV huffyuv

    Why does sc7 look better than trv67 when I captured it in the same environment?

    In addition, sc7 does not have tbc and dnr.

  2. Adjusting the capture device's video processing amplifier can probably get you similar levels and colors from both camcorders. Other than that why do you say the sc7 image looks better than the trv67 image? The sc7 has lots of chroma noise.

    thanks!!

    I could see the color smudging on the SC7, but it felt smooth in my eyes.

    In comparison, trv67 seemed to me to have degraded image quality.

    I'm relieved if the quality of trv67 is better technically.

    The TRV67 TBC/DNR cleaned the picture and removed the greenish chroma stain, Luma is sharper and levels are more pronounced. so no SC7 is mediocre all around.
