I use a 1999 Ford Taurus for basic transportation. It's been very dependable. I also got a Chinese 150cc scooter a couple of weeks ago for the ~ 1/2 mile trips to the grocery store. I also have a 8 speed bicycle, but that's more for exercise than transportation.

Gotta have an all wheel drive vehicle where I live, snow and ice always a problem in winter, with the price of gas rising I will probably have to add some other economy vehicle to the stable. A little too far to ride my horse to work.
It's not important the problem be solved, only that the blame for the mistake is assigned correctly

We could easily do anything we need to do with the buses here in Germany...and quite often do just that...but we also have a car(9 month old VW Golf).

2002 Jetta for daily commute to work, about 37 miles each way with about 35 of that highway. Avg 37mpg in summer, about 30 in winter. Wife has a 4wd Nissan Murano for winter driving safety for a 3 mile local commute to work. Local roads can be pretty bad. We also use it for nice comfortable road trips.
    Have a good one,

Don't have a basic means. Haven't used commercial transportation in over 20 years but I have used most everything else including animal transportation.

I have cars, trucks, motorcycles, off road vehicles, bicycles and exercise vehicles(treadmills and exercycles) so It all depends.
As far as hours spent moving around I would say it's running. Second would be motorcycles.

I may be close to 70 years old, but I am still a boy with his transportation toys.

City transport (bus, subway etc.) takes me to/from my workplace in no time (since I travel with a book-reader, learning Chinese).
