Hi, i enclose the media infor in text form.
It seems that the video does not have vfr, but please confirm it as i do not know much about it.
if vfr is there, what should i do to fix it.
This is the first video, that accepts the format , but plays fast. -
The file is vfr:
Code:Frame rate mode : Variable Frame rate : 23.976 (24000/1001) FPS Minimum frame rate : 23.976 FPS Maximum frame rate : 1000 000.000 FPS
Since the file was created using VLC stream output, the first thing I would recommend is remux either to mp4 using MP4Box/FFmpeg or to mkv using mkvtoolnix.
Only way to get cfr if the content really is vfr would be to reencode it.
For the future: make sure to capture at a fixed frame rate.

Hi, thanks for the useful tips.
but , are some videos are having vfr by default
or vlc played a role in it while i convert it.
Normallyl media downloads are not having and if i want to give subtitles , i use vlc to embed the srt files and i leave the vlc to convert and save with h 264 and mp3, even when the video is in h 264. i did not check the ffr or cfr in any of the settings. I just do it for all the videos, i would like to give sub titles.
Is that the video itself has vfr or it changed to vfr while vonverting with vlc.
Downloading the file is not with vlc media player and i only use vlc for conversion and play the video as it plays all formats.
please tell, if the video would normallyl contain variable frame rate.
How to make ffr in vlc plesse -

Hi, Johns, yes i got the point. i just converted the vfr video with handbrake , which is having a setting for cfr, not by default, to the same mp4 format.
i checked and tested and the tv [;aued ffine.
But , there is another problem,
while playing video, the audio just disconnects and vidoe plays with video and subtitles.
i have to go back to tv mode and then again go to the scene to play. It plays again and there is another disconnect of audio.
the audio is in mp3format and video in h264.
what should i check now.
is there a setting in vlc media player , to make a cfr in the video settings or we have to use alternative tooldsl
the mp3 is having 128 kbps speed
please give me the solution to this annoying problem

Hi, i do realize. But what i want is a solution to this vixing problem
why audio disconnects in the middle and replay when going to tyhe same place in the video .
the codecs are correct, what should i look is the query i raised -
Try remuxing using the audio from the original file and the video from the processed file.

Hi, i usually like vlc media player to convert.
Is there any settings that would give me a constant or fixed frame rate of 29.97, so that i need not use so many softwares for easy editing.
Regarding johns , reply , i wish to point out that video codec is supported in my tv, but mp4aor m4a or sometimes even aac audio is not correcly playing in samsung tv, so i invariably has to change the audio to mp3 universal format.
if there is a setting in vlc , please say, so that i could change the frame rate to the above.]i do not want to set for individual file, for which i know the existence of setting in vlc. please -

Strangely, the same MKV file which was then described as having a variable framerate (when I asked about it in 2015 – damn was I otherwordlily wordy back then ! O_O) now appears with a constant framerate with MediaInfo 18.08.1. Why is that ?

Back to the main subject, this thread I archived a few years ago contains interesting insight on this issue.Last edited by abolibibelot; 13th Jan 2020 at 16:46.

I found that lg blu-ray players wouldn't play videos with vfr while my sony bdp-s380would play them.
I think,therefore i am a hamster. -
Hi, aboli, do you mean to say that mp3 audio not cokpatible with the mp4, h264 , or
you mean that mp4 is compatible with aac, which is taken by softwares, while converting the avcodecs.
please clarify
My tv is samsung tv of 2015, which is having usb port support.
while converting to mp3, should l also change the bit rate to 128, or it will take the audio bitrate of 128 kpbs.
Mostly , the vlc media player when i play a downloaded video, shows, h2+4 with mp4a or m4a which is advanced form of audio
Hi, aboli, is it ideal to change all video to be converted to uniform 29.97 frame rate. what if a video has a frame rate of 15. will it play in this frame rate. -

Those standards are only referential. You can simply ignore them all as long as you have a capable decoder. -

hi, gdgs, i raised the query , as i was not able to play a video having more than 45 fps and i remember ,sent the information on media info to this site.
Someone correctly pointed out about the vfr not playing in samsung tv.
i then went to my samsung tv manual and found that it supports on vlc but not on samsung , which supports only 30. he has advised to convert the fps and then i was able to play that in my samsung without any problem. The conversion was made with handbrake, which has a provision.
i generallyl use vlc media player for play, and so i ask for a setting in vlc media player.
Normally ,the settings made for one file repeats for other files, unless you go and uncheck in vlc, but i tried one coversion and it did , but the result was not 30fps rate.
So, i ask the query and i found no mention in advanced settings option also.
i will raise this query with vlc forum
