  1. I have this video here:

    https://mega.nz/#!dVpSlRrT!sGpP3duH22bJuIdpFgTmGWJFfLwgiy-_9fNZXIp32mo

And I'm trying to get rid of the combing.

Video is apparently film with soft pulldown flags.

    When I use field matching

I end up with this color .....abstraction. Seems to be chroma channels are swapped..?

    How can I fix this??

  2. The interlaced chroma channels have been blended together by incorrectly treating interlaced chroma as progressive. There's no way to fix it.

  3. There's gotta be a way. What about greyscaling the video and pasting the chroma trimmed by one frame?

  4. There are frames for which there are no unblended chroma channels in adjacent frames. There are orphaned fields for which there is no complimentary field from which to obtain clear chroma. You could greyscale the image and manually colorize thousands of frames, pasting chroma from nearby frames where available, then hand painting the remaining parts. If you want to spend a year doing that, go ahead.

  5. So it's not a mess up on my part? It's an issue with the source? Surprised
