    Can anyone tell me the best way to get from DVD to DivX? Quality wise ... and size I made a VCD then might convert to DivX ... but I want to have the best quality. Also, my picture went from wide-screen to distorted on the vertical axis (people look taller). Thanks for your help!

    chkout the divx4 guide at http://www.doom9.org. use 2-pass encoding. 600-700kbit encoding for 1CD rip and 1200-1400kbit encoding for 2 CD rip. the new divx4 coding is amazing.
