  1. Hi,
I have two video files (.MKV and .AVI) which I'd like to convert to regular DVD format (pardon my layman terminology), to play on nearly any DVD player, and without any logo/watermark. May I do so for instance using VLC player and/or Windows Media Player? If indeed, how may I go about it? Otherwise, which other software would I need?
    I'd appreciate some guidance/advice.

    Thanks in advance!

Wonderful, I shall give them both a shot. Thank you very much!

Yes. But I recommend to make a DVD file structure/ISO so you can test the DVD before burning with ImgBurn or the like.

A matter of personal preference. I like the higher flexibillity in menu/navigation in DVDStyler.

I also like DVDStyler. You can add a variety of menus to your finished DVD.

Neither will do any logo removing. You'll have to either edit an AVS script they create before reencoding, or create your own AviSynth script to reencode it (or do the logo removal within VDub) before making menus (if desired) and authoring for DVD.

Logo removal is tricky and I know of no program that will do it automatically. Since you're asking some really basic questions, I might suggest forgetting about logo removal.
