I need to download this video but I can't, I used all sorts of plugins and streamdownloaders(Orbit, HiDownload).

Can someone try it, it surely must be possible....

SDP downloader obviously doesn't work, it would be nice to be reasonable enough to try the solutions yourself before you suggest them to others.

    thanks for nothing.

  9. Video stream from this site is provide by RTSP protocol.

SDP Multimedia support MMS, but not (yet) RTSP protocol.
And SDP is for ASF/WMV streams (not support other - QuickTime, Real, Flash).

Unfortunately i'm don't see possibility to 'download' this stream (secure?).
    Maybe MOV Recorder...

  11. SatStorm's link only downloads a small file with a link to the real video:

    rtsp://ds9.rockefeller.edu:554/evolution/coyne.mov

I haven't found anything yet that will download purely streamed rtsp videos.

    Work.
You must play this video - then MOV Recorder can record.
If You stop playing - then can't record.

But... recorded video is very slow (low FPS), not have audio and image is illegible in most time.

    Other...
VLC can play this stream (not perfect, but...).

Well, You can try record to hard drive.
(Unfortunately, when i'm try - get only audio.)

Hm, I'm gonna send them an email asking what the hell are they doing with this substandard esoteric bullshit streaming.
I've never encountered such problem that normal firefox plugin or Orbit downloader couldn't handle.

    Not Net Transport, either ?
When in Las Vegas, don't miss the Pinball Hall of Fame Museum http://www.pinballmuseum.org/ -- with over 150 tables from 6+ decades of this quintessentially American art form.

So you're going to ask them how you can steal their video?

Are there some classes of streaming which are theoreticaly impossible to download?

No. But the distance between theory and practice can be very large.

    Greets,

I have had luck recovering 'streamed data' in the past from close examination of my browser cache (or other appropriate player cache). Chances are good it may not have the original name to identify it. If you purge the cache ahead of time, unhide files and sort by the largest or certain file type. A new movie should be easy enough to find. Helps if browser cache is set to be large enough to contain what you are seeking.

Not going to give this a try on your movie because I do not wish Quicktime installed in my browsers at the moment. Then again, for what it is worth... I tend to be unpleasant, pompous and useless at the best of times ;-] . Good of luck to ya.

    Cheers,
    Rick

I do that all the time too but it doesn't work with that video. It is not cached anywhere on the hard drive.
