  1. I have a 72 Inch DLP Projector TV.

Every Year I have to Replace the Bulb so this is why I am getting Rid of it.

I had the TV around 8. Years now and even after I replace the Bulb it only lasts about 6. Months.
Then I have to replace the Bulb again.

And every now and then the TV Turns Off.

And I remember the TV starts to Turn Off right before the Picture starts to go Dark.

So I know I will have to replace the Bulb soon.

Is this my DLP DMD Chip going Bad?

Or when the DLP DMD Chip goes you get Pixelation?

  2. The DMD is very unlikely to be the cause.
More probable is the light level from the lamp reducing as it ages. There will be a compensation circuit that tries to maintain constant brightness by increasing the power to the lamp to compensate for it 'darkening', as the demand for power increases it could be overloading the power source and making it shut down.
