There are some old Aldi-sold Tevion USB dongles for sale. Short money.
    Does anyone have an opinion?
    Will it work in W10?
It does not appear to have audio connections, would I run the audio directly from VCR to TBC?

For the devices without audio connections, the audio would be captured with the PC's audio line in connection using an adapter like this https://www.amazon.com/Hometheatre-3-5mm-Female-Splitter-6-Inch/dp/B0016LC5VY/

The Arcsoft software bundled with some Tevion devices probably won't work with Windows 10. Arcsoft has not supported or maintained any of its video products for several years.

A search engine found this: http://www.digitalfaq.com/forum/video-capture/9560-tevion-high-speed.html It sounds like there is probably more information about some of the Tevion capture devices available at digitalfaq. You might want to post over there.

Tevion had at least a half dozen devices (no models), some EZcap rebadges, some "ATI clones", some grabber rebadges.
    Aldi sold multiple versions.

You have to know what it is before you buy it.
No photo (of the exact unit being bought) = Easycap, almost always. Those are the most plentiful, especially in Europe eBay.

If no audio input is available, wires are missing, another typical incomplete USB card being sold.

The box appears to show the audio is not incorporated to the device. The box illustration shows it going from a camera to computer, bypassing the capture card altogether.

I actually have 3 of the desired Tevions, aside from wanting to sell one I wish to report that the Vidbox NW03 driver works for it in both Window 7 and 10 with no issues. No more driver-fights!
Not sure whysomeone else's driver would work but I don't care!

It means they're not using "their own" drivers, but rather generic eMPIA bridge drivers. Or more likely, custom updates to the generic drivers, since the generic don't have official support.

I have now used the Tevion on 3 Windows 10 computers with the Vidbox NW03 driver and it works. Is there a known drawback to using this off-the-reservation (can I still say that?) driver?
