    Hi guys,

I've uploaded a video on YouTube which is 4K60 and for some reason, YouTube is adding some judder or making my video choppy on certain parts. It happens on the at different resolutions when the video is played in 60 FPS.

    This is the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D9JjLzLRkwA
    The timestamps are 0:29 - 0:32, 1:29 - 1:32

    The original file: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1uQ_5nAi3nlA0sCdFxi-zRpLqoroOsZhM/view?usp=sharing

The original file is encoded using x265 but I've tested uploading a video encoded using x264 instead and it has the same result. I'm using StaxRip to do the encoding.

Whoops, sorry about that, it should be accessible now.

How did you get 60fps - interpolation?
There appear to be dropped frames at the 1.30 mark, duplicates giving the judder.
I haven't looked at the source yet

I used Topaz Video AI to do it. The judder doesn't appear in the source (when played using MPC-HC).

    Okay I've fixed the issue.

The original file was using ProRes LT as the codec and I transcoded it to HEVC using StaxRip. StaxRip's Source Filter defaulted to LSMASH which read the framerate incorrectly. Using ffmpeg to transcode or FFVideoSource as the Source Filter fixes this.

  7. send youtube the prores file, don't upscale non 60fps content to 60fps, it will never look the same.

Yes, the interpolated frames are terrible in the fast motion scenes such as 1.29-1.31
