Is there any way to increase the maximum speed at which DVDDecrypter rips whilst AnyDVD runs in the background? At the moment, the speed seems to be peaking at 2.8X, and only reaches this level for about ten minutes in the middle of a rip, which is taking the best part of an hour. I am not terribly familiar with the program, and do not understand the best way to configure it. Any suggestions?

If you are using the two together you should first go into DVD decrypter's preferences and disable all the PUO functions.
    Read my blog here.

I was with you up until the PUO functions... where are those options?

I suspect your problem may be your LG-H10A drive. I suggest you go to the LG Burner forum on www.cdfreaks.com and explore how to turn off riplock on your burner.

It will require a firmware update.

I turned it off on my LG-H42N and it rips about 6x faster than your drive.

Thanks, old, I did kind of suspect the drive might have been part of the problem. Unfortunately, cdfreaks is a real bastard to get any helpful info from.

Go the the LG Burner Forum on CDFreaks.

Find the info on downloading the latest firmware for your drive from the firmnware thread.

Read the threads on MCSE as well.

Run MCSE on your downloaded firmware.

Install the firmware in your drive.

Hopefully this overview will assist you in using cdfreaks.

The entire process took me under 10 minutes.
