    I downloaded some videos from a site and all of them come with the .vismv file extension (I never heard of it) and I can't open the file. How to I extract the video file from this extension and convert it to mp4?

    Contact the site and ask them what kind if file it is.
    You can try mediainfo to open the file, see if can recognize anything about it

    Try opening the files with vlc player.

  4. VISMV or maybe ISMV?
    anyway you don't need conversion, simply play with VLC.
    but usually ismv file are encrypted: is a method used for share video but they are encrypted.
    you need to decrypt them to play correctly.

    ... and, very importantly (or at least in my case), last 2 times I encountered ismv/isma files, they were missing an init file (or had a "damaged" init in them) that needs to be "attached" so THEN you can decrypt them.

    Hi [ss]vegeta,I already know how to get the kid from a .vismv file,and I want to know how to "attach" the init file I can't DM you so I replied you here...sorry if it's not allowed...
