  1. I need some help with subtitles in HandBrake. As an example I have a video file that I need to rewrite to a different video format. It has a subtitle track, and using MediaInfo, the track looks like this:

    Text
    ID : 3
    Format : UTF-8
    Codec ID : S_TEXT/UTF8
    Codec ID/Info : UTF-8 Plain Text
    Duration : 57 min 17 s
    Bit rate : 58 b/s
    Count of elements : 712
    Stream size : 24.6 KiB (0%)
Title : GalaxyTV - small excellence!
    Language : English
    Default : Yes
    Forced : No

What I want to achieve is to have Handbrake rewrite the file to a different video format but bring the subtitle track along. I’ve found that I can ask Handbrake to burn the subtitles into the video and that’s alright, but I would like something better.

What would be perfect is a Track 3 that looks like this:

    Text
    ID : 3
    Format : UTF-8
    Codec ID : S_TEXT/UTF8
    Codec ID/Info : UTF-8 Plain Text
    Duration : 50 min 14 s
    Title : Genius.S03E07.WEB.x264-PHOENiX
    Language : English
    Default : Yes
    Forced : No

But I can’t find the Handbrake levers that would accomplish this. I’ve tried every lever and what I get is this:

    Menu
    ID : 3
    Codec ID : text
    Duration : 57 min 55 s
    Language : English
    Encoded date : UTC 2021-04-18 14:56:23
    Tagged date : UTC 2021-04-18 14:56:23
    Menu For : 1,2
    Duration_FirstFrame : -3257299
    00:00:00.000 : Recap start
    00:01:49.101 : Recap end

Which won't work for me. Any subtitle experts out there?
