"Stream Wrting Error"

half way through conversion i get the "stream writing error"

i assume from reading other posts that this is caused by a frozen or dropped frame in the source

what do i do - use VirtualDub or AviSynth ?
and how do i do it ?

Download DivFix which can check for frame errors and sometimes fix them.If its still not successful,go to the Divx Digest website and under Virtualdub download the special version..vdub-mp3-freeze.
Then using the instructions you can scan and identify the problem frames then you can extract them with Virtualdub.

It can also happen when you are running low or out of disk space.
