Hi, I've been capturing VHS tapes for many years using my Hauppauge USB live 2 connected to my Panasonic ES10.
A frustrating problem has been happening today which has never happened before, during capture the tapes drop out to a blue screen and will only return if I hit the fast forward button.
This has happened to 3 tapes in a row in 3 different VCR's, I don't get dropouts at the start it may happen after 1 hour or 2 hours or just randomly.
I'm wondering if my Hauppauge USB live 2 has finally had it's day or it's probably something else?
Your help is highly appreciated.
Thank you

Does it play on a TV set normally? Sounds like a dirty head if it is dropping out on the TV too.

Hi Karma, thank you for your reply.
I have not tried it o a TV but the heads have been cleaned. The tapes are old & the footage has been put on a tape that has had TV shows on it as previously.
Maybe the tapes are simply worn out and the signal is dropping out as other tapes have worked fine
