    i heard that it is possible to rip a dvd straight to format for svcd or vcd format for burning with nero. what software could do this?

    is this correct? i only have so many legs you know.

    There is a program out there called "DVD2SVCD" that does the rip in 1 process.If you want it let me know and I can e-mail it to you.

    i emailed you for the program and i appreciate it. tell me this spuds.. you just posted a message describing this as your process

    DVD->Smartripper->DVD2AVI->TMPG->BBMPG->MPGXMPS->IAUTHOR->EASYCDCREATOR

    if you can do it in one process with dvd2svcd, why do you do all this? is the dvd2svcd quality poor? how long does it take? can it make xsvcd too?

    The quality is a little less when using DVD2SVCD program but not apparent to the eye. The benefit is you don't have to babysit the entire process.
