Is there a proggy to convert from WMA to WAV, if so how's quailityof files after?

musicmatch can do it. Sounds just fine. Goldwave may also work - I think I just saw that audacity doesn't support wma.

Try MediaCoder it's fairly bulky over 12mb but will convert wma to wav not a problem,and it's bloody quick.1 song took 2 seconds!

Just my luck the file is drm protected, any leads to get around this?

only if you own a license for it. if you can play it, programs can capture the analog and convert back to digital. not very elegant but that's about it.

Personally I convert with SPAM Besides converting between different audio formats it removes frm-protection if u download music on-line (Napster, Itunes etc.)

If all you want to do is convert, then there is a nice program from Acoustica that does that, only that and does it very well. Check it out at http://www.acoustica.com/mp3%2Dwav%2Dconverter/. The nice thing about this program is that you go to the folder where your .wma files are, right-click the file(s) and select convert from the pop-up menu and DONE! Great quality. Other than to personalize your settings, you don't even go into the program to do it.

It probably didn't work because of DRM. The DRM should allow you to burn an audio CD copy of the song(s). I have paid to download a few official DRM-ed WMA files of Paul McCartney songs and Windows Media Player allowed me to burn an audio CD of them. Once you have an audio CD, simply rip it to WAV format using MusicMatch or any similar program. Yes, this requires an intermediate step of making an audio CD, but it should at least work.
