I've been editing for a long time, and in all my countless hours of splitting/joining, I never faced such a problem.
It's a 10 min video file which plays without a problem under VLC 3.0.0, and yet, when trying to bring it into the fold, it throws the resulting file out of whack (the player closes when reaching that point, image looks corrupted if you skip ahead...).
I tried to re-encode it, just in case, without any luck. The behaviour is inherited by the new encodes.
If someone is feeling curious, an upload is possible (just 400 MB).
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

Yes, upload it.
But also tell us what "bring it into the fold" means. And what "that point" is. And how you re-encoded. Currently, we have no idea what you are doing, what your file looks like.
