Hi,
I'm looking to get a dvd recorder for around £200 and I've read a good review of the LG RHT497H. One of my main reason for buying a dvd recorder is to back up NTSC laserdiscs. As such, I'm wondering if anyone knows whether this machine accepts 'true' NTSC signals? Many thanks.

That feature is rarely advertised in the specs of recorders. My ancient Philips recorder accepted both NTSC and PAL via all of the Line In options....but again none of the literature said it could do it.
