Sofar I never had problems burning cue/bin files from VCDImagerGui into Nero. Using 5.5.1.8 and 5.5.2.3 never was a problem. Shall try it out with 5.5.2.4 and tell you in about 15 mins.

  3. ...well, I've spent last 2 hours figuring out how to create NRG images, and I've implemented a new option for vcdxbuild, namely --nrg-file,

this creates a .nrg TAO (!) image, which should be readable by nero 5.0 and later...

    maybe this helps...

plz lemme know if it does...

you can find the pre-release at

    Commands used:
vcdxgen.exe E:\DISTPRO\VOL01\04.mpg (My dir for the movie)
    vcdxbuild.exe --nrg-file=file.nrg D:\videocd.xml (Default dir for my 2kpro)

    Burned and it works great.

  5. When burning a SVCD (using a .cue/bin file), should I enable DAO or TAO? Nero said it's not practical if it's enabled (or something like that). What's the difference with it on and off? All I want is a compliant SVCD...

Now I have the burning working using nrg files (Thanx), but I lost the goto function on my DVD player (FF/RW are working). Goto used to work with the previous version of vcdimager.

    What could be wrong?

  7. well, 100% compliant SVCDs should be created always DAO... that's maybe why TAO made svcd's have minor glitches...

btw, which version are you referring to as 'previous' version?

...and btw, bin/cue images are not supposed to be burned TAO!

You can use daemon-tool to create a fake CD-ROM drive from the bin/cue files and use Nero with CD-copy "on the fly" from the faked drive.

That's what i do cause i had pb burning cue/bin with nero.

Plus you can test ( a bit) the SVCD from the fake drive with windvd3.0 before actually burning it.

    Mean.

The version I used previously with working goto function was VCDImager 0.6.2rc.

I've done two test since last time:
    1) Test Nero and the nrg file both with DAO checked and not.
But no goto function works. (vcdimager beta version)

    2) Test cue/bin file with CDRWIN - also generates CDs that does not work at all. (cue/bin generated with VCDImager 0.6.2rc)

Now I got it all working.
I removed Nero 5.5.2.3, removed the ASPI driver installed.
    Reinstalled adaptec aspi drivers.
    Installed Nero 5.5.2.4.

I use the beta version of vcdimager to generate nrg files burn them with Nero 5.5.2.4 and I get SVCD that have goto and FF/RW functions working perfect every time.
