    Hi there

    I own a LG RH1999H DVD Recorder.

I recorded a TV Program on a DVD-R Disc and everything went well, but when i wanted to play the disc the

recorder "said" unknown disc and ejected it. I did not finalize the disc.

I tried ISO Buster but it did not work.

Can one recover the video files of an unfinalized DVD-R?

    Hello,Budz

The program was recorded in video mode.

I cannot finalize the disc because the recorder does not want to read it.

Yes. NeroVision sucks the data right off the disc. It's not free, but worth it for this alone. I typically migrate all my DVR's content to my PC anyway, so I never bother with finalizing the RW discs I use.

Load your disc in your PC and in NeroVision select Make DvD (or Editable DvD/VR/etc. all work) and on the next page Import Disc and select the drive it's on, select your destination folder a few seconds later, and after some import time, Bob's your uncle.

Keep in mind, this may be model specific. I have a Pioneer. Not sure if NeroVision will recognize content from the LG hardware so I don't want to guarantee anything. But if you're desperate it's certainly worth a try.
I hate VHS. I always did.
