*No audio* when using merge/cut in TMPGEnc

Hey all.

This is a relatively new problem. I used to be able to merge/edit mpeg files with no problems using TMPGEnc (version 2.57 Plus to be exact) but the last week or so I have been having major problems. When I use the merge/edit feature, everything seems to work okay, but when I open the movie there is *no sound*. At first it would have about 30 seconds-1 minute of worth of sound at the start of like a 50 minute mpeg file, no it has none at all. I did a little researching and thought that it might be the AC3 audio problem people have written about, so I de-multiplexed the file, multiplexed it back together with the mp2 file and mpg, and tried again. Same deal. (I don't think the movie I was working with even had AC3 audio in the first place, I think it was mp2.)

Be kind, I am a relative newbie, I mostly use TMPGEnc for merge/cut features...but I am willing to try anything at this point...
