JVC HR-9600 top guide

Hi all,

Sorry this isn't technically a capturing problem, but during a capture....I had a tape get stuck in my HR-9600. it was pretty bad - would not eject and the unit kept turning off. I manually got the tape out by opening the cover and then releasing the top guide. Now the problem is I can't figure out how to put the top guide back. It's kind of a complicated part...I'm just not seeing the correct alignment - any tips?

Not sure what you mean by "top guide," but perhaps the service manual will help. (Web site appears to be down as I write, but may be back up soon.)

For anyone with the model, it's the metal bar that props open the top of the tape. The service manual gives instructions on how to release it with a tape jam, but not really how to put it back.


EDIT - I was finally able to get it - putting in a tape helped it make it more obvious and it kind of snapped into place with the tape there. Should have tried that earlier.
