    Hi,

I've been using MacTheRipper heavily for the past few weeks without a problem, and now almost every DVD I'm ripping, I get the following message; "This disc has bad sectors. Although the rip is complete, the rip may not playback. Please check prior to burning" . I trashed the program then re-installed it to no avail. Can someone help out here, would be much appreciated!?!!

    Regards,

    Abel.

    what version of MTR?
2.66 is old, current version is 3.0r14d.
You get the new version by going to
    rippdifferent.com, join the MacTheRipper forums,
and donate AT LEAST $15 US to get the newer version.

Most newer made discs will produce this error, due to
advances in copy protection schemes used by the MPAA
(Ripguard, ArCCos, PuppetLock). The newer MTR
handles these much better than version 2.66.

    Hi Terryj,

Guess somethings in the world you have to pay for... LOL. Quite certain I'll do it because this is bothering the hell out of me. I did try myDVDEdit but not quite certain if it's working. But for 15 USD that's a good investment. =)

    Ciao,

    Abel.

It is a DONATION! Any amount is welcome. Here's the
    MTR donation thread:

In general, go to ripdifferrent.com, join the forums, go to
    the MacTheRipper forum.

    alboom,
these same forums people ( as well as GB) have pointed out
that do to the poor American Dollar exchange rate,
$15 US is the minimum.... anything less than that, and you
might as well be sending AIR.

I've gotten the same "bad sectors" message on a few discs when I use 3.0 r14. When that happens I re-rip using 3.0 r13 and get no bad sectors. I'm sure glad I keep the older versions -- they come in handy.
