  1. Hi, I'm wondering if it is possible to convert huffyuv to h264 with Handbrake?
I've tried it on a few computers now and they all end up giving me these... color bar thingys that appear for like half a second every now and then - always on the same places. They do not however appear if I convert them to xvid using AutoGK... Any ideas?

  2. You can try another program like ripbot264, staxrip, xvid4psp, megui etc....

  3. I tried StaxRip and MeGui but Staxrip had an issue with Yuv12 (or something) and told me to add a misc filter which didn't exist, I could try Ripbot though =)

  4. Huffyuv normally comes as YUV 4:2:2 or YUY2 (although some variants can come in other sampling and other colorspaces)

It has to be converted to YV12 from YUY2 , unless you plan on encoding YUV 422 with x264 (it's not supported by any devices, only computer playback). So those programs should do it automatically (just say yes if they ask)

The "normal" h.264 subsampling for delivery formats is YV12 4:2:0
