I just received my new D/N dvr 510 with a 120 GB HD. All seem to work very well. I am looking for suggestions on a capture method on the output side. The satellite receiver has RCA jacks and S video output. What would you suggest for capture and eventual B/U to DVD-+r/rw.

  2. I capture S-video directly from the DVR into my ATI AIW 7500. If I do not plan on doing any editing, then I capture straight to MPEG2, if I want to edit, then I capture uncompressed AVI.

    Same here.

Coax from satellite. S-video from SVHS VCR.
MPEG for no editing. Uncompressed AVI for editing.
