I am noticing some illegal values, but it does not seem to be a ton of it. Does this look like I should bother to clamp it to legal values?

The small excursions into superblacks are oversharpening halos, not really part of the original images. So you don't want to raise the black level to get them in the legal range. In fact, the black level is probably too high, not too low. You might clamp them if they are causing problems with some playback devices (rare these days).
