I'd have to go with USB as the mnost used port:
USB mouse (with blue kight up scroll wheel)
USB to parallel adapter to Laserjet 4
USB to parallel adapter to inkjet printer
    USB photo printer
    USB cable for digital camera
    USB for pocket cam
USB internal 6-in-1 memory card reader
    USB to SCSI adapter
USB light (for late night surfing when I don't want to light up the whole room)

    Non USB:
2x external firewire 160GB hard drives
12 year old AT keyboard with AT to PS/2 adapter (no modern keyboard has the same feel as my old keyboard)

PS/2, without doubt. I type more than I print, so the USB looses.

    USB joypad (looks like PSX)
    USB joystick
    USB scanner
and 2 USB hubs to handle all those USB devices I have!

USB, by a wide margin since my video capture device is on USB, and so is my mouse.

The physical appearance was the same but the signaling was different and incompatible. You were not able to use a PC/XT keyboard in an AT class Machine. There were some keyboards that had a switch that allowed the owner to choose between AT/XT compatibility. An AT keyboards is basically a PS/2 keyboard with a different connector.

Many AT keyboards also lack "Windows" keys.

Ah yes, the old IBM Model M buckling-spring keyboard! It is a true gem. I have and use 2 of them from 1987 and still going strong; and I thought I was the only one left in the world hooked on them. It will be a very sad day for me when the PS/2 connectors no longer appear on motherboards. Have you noticed the slow disappearence of parallel and serial ports? I'm guessing that the PS/2 connectors are next to go. How anyone can use these new "dead" keyboards sold today is beyond my comprehension.
If you don't have time to do it right, when will you have time to do it over?
