I installed Adaptec's latest ASPI. I'm using DRU500AX and i'm trying to backup my movie dvd. However everytime i try to decrypt the cd it gives me following error:

"Decrypter Error:

I/O Error!
Device: [1:1:0] SONY DVD RW DRU-500A 2.0c (F
CDB 28 00 00 0C7 90 00 00 01 00
Interpretation: Read (10) - Sector: 818320
Reason: The Parameter is Incorrect"

Also on DVDXCopy it gives me follwong error after decrypting files into HD and just before burning:

"Drive and media check was not successful. Selection timeout occured. Check cables and power."

How can i fix these?

Run the utility progrm called "Force aspi" http://www.afterdawn.com/software/cdr_software/cdr_tools/frcaspi.cfm

This problem was apparent even before i installed adaptec's aspi.
Secondly i don't really want to install any new programs on my PC. If i really need i'll install it. thank you for the suggestion.

Does anybody have any other suggestions?
