Everybodies always s#!+ing on Maxtor. I buy them cause they are dirt cheap. I abuse my harddrives and no problems yet.
Just my two cents.
I think i am lucky I buy stuff that have heard horror stories about and have no problems.
I know a guy that handle his hardware with kitten gloves and only buys top of the Seagate and his harddrives usually only last for like 6 months. They still under warrant so he always get new stuff, but he has to go through the hassle of setting everything up again. Now for data security and speed he is running a RAID 5 controller.snappy phrase
I don't know what you're talking about. -
I have used Maxtor drives and I haven't had any problems. I've had a couple go out after 5+ years but nothing within the first 3 or 4 years. I don't have any issues buying them and as long as they're the best deal around I'll keep buying them.
