  1. The output from my computer to TV has a flicker / flashing effect. My computer has only Displayport, not HDMI(!) so I use the Displayport-to-HDMI adapter below.

The problem is: once every 10 to 60 seconds or so there is a quick flash for a tiny fraction of a second. The 'flash' seems to be some black and white rectangle pattern, i.e. the picture isn't going to a complete 100% black screen (or white), and it's not like the image is stuttering (like on Skype when you have a bad connection). It's hard to tell because it's extremely quick. The 'pattern' is different every time. The interval between flashes is irregular. Sometimes you might even go a few minutes without any; other times it's about 10 seconds apart.

Could a bad adapter do this? The problem only started recently, after everything running fine for a couple years. This is my second adapter (different brand); the thing is, I can't remember if it started exactly when I got the adapter, which obviously would indicate that's the problem. I think the second adapter was also working fine for a couple months and *then* the problem started.

Is that is a passive adapter or an active adapter? Active adapters are more expensive but are supposed to be more reliable and don't require Displayport++.

    I had this problem.

Only stopped this problem when I used a DP to DP on my monitor.

It seems to be a problem with the refresh rate on HDMI mode.

    My tiny is M93p.

I guess passive because it was cheap. The active one isn't even $10 more so maybe I'll try it if nothing else works.

I don't understand. What is DP to DP and what is "my tiny is M93p"? Sorry, I don't know what any of this is about.

My problem has solved only connecting my Lenovo thinkcentre m93p using DP to Display Port on my Monitor input. The flicker and flash is gone.

Possible problem is HDTV resolution + Refresh rates with video changes (example: play a 720p@24 video on 1080p@60 display. Sometimes its switch to fullscreen and the problem show).

    Accel is often recommended.
