The pictures I've seen on Google make me think the Panasonic PV-9661 is NTSC.

Is that mean there is no way to play pal taps on NTSC system ?

    Note:
    I have bought both Panasonic PV-9661 4-Head Hi-Fi VCR & Panasonic DMR-ES15 DVD Recorder
in order to convert VHS tapes into DVD.

PAL tapes on an NTSC machine? No.
NTSC tapes on a PAL machine? Yes (to WATCH them.....still quite difficult to copy).

I can't help you much since i'm NTSC. But this will get you started. I don't know anything about these models (below) so you will have to google each model and read as much as you can.

You could have a look at this one, its a Panasonic NV-SJ210 (PAL) , its a good model, but no TBC. And it will play PAL and NTSC tapes. And it comes with a remote. Most don't.

This model looks similar to my AG-2560 (NTSC).

Also, the NV-FS200 PAL, which is the equivalent of the AG-1980 NTSC model, is a favorite here, but very expensive.

Consumer Panasonic Pal models with TBC and DNR from older to the last model built:
Panasonic NV-FS 200 (equivalent to the AG-1980 a popular VCR among the UK members, has a good TBC and decent noise reduction)
    Panasonic NV-HS 950
    Panasonic NV-HS 1000
    Panasonic NV-HS 860 (TBC)
    Panasonic NV-HS 930
    Panasonic NV-HS 960
    Panasonic NV-SV 121

ps: please don't post in those old threads i listed above. post your follow-up question in this discussion. if anyone has any answers, they will post there comments here.
