probably not original, but....,
i know that most computers will allow 5 region code changes before locking up when playing a disc. is it the same when copying? i had this crazy idea that the copying process (i generally use nero) is different from the watching process & as such the region code wouldn't matter. but my crazy ideas have sometimes been wrong.

the region code won't matter on a computer but when you play the copied disc on your home
dvd player, you might have the issue of NTSC - PAL format. some dvd players have settings for this.
the copied disc will be region free.

Only officially licensed DVD player software and hardware cares about the region code. In computers there are some DVD drives that look at the region code (and refuse to allow playback of the wrong region) but most drives simply pass the code to the software. Unlicensed software with the ability to decrypt CSS, like VLC, will play any disc as long as the drive will read it. DVD ripping software ignores the region code.
