    Is there a free program out there that I can download for free that will convert MIDI files into MP3s?

    overboard, I think your best bet would be to record the midi in audacity and then export it to .mp3. Audacity is open source so it's free.

    Try searching for "fast tracker" ... I have thousand's of them thing's in all format's ... just for fun , some for work .
