I have ripped my DVD with Smart ripper ,now I have my 4 decoded Vob files.

What is the best way to produce an AVI file I can use with the panasonic encoder?? or any other Mpeg1 encoder program.

I Tried DVD2AVI save project but I get this .d2v?? + a .wav which id ok for tmpeg but not ok for the panasonic encoder. When I tried save .avi I stopped DVD2AVI when it had got to 8% and already used up 14gigs of harddisk space.
I need a proggy that can produce some sort of standard .avi which I can use in other mpeg encoders....

what is standard AVI? If you mean uncompressed, then 8%=14gigs is quite normal. Saving the project in DVD2AVI is the way to go. Use VFAPI to convert the dvd2avi project to a small fake avi. Select this avi as video source, when you encode to mpeg.

  5. Alternatively, you could use FlaskMPEG to load up your VOB files (you can load the relevant IFO or load the first VOB) and then use the Panasonic plug-in to directly encode to MPEG-1,

There is no need to encode to an intermediary AVI first.

If you use DVD2AVI, you can do what Truman said.
