I am trying to do frame accurate cuts on some Live Meeting 2007 recordings (WMV format) without any luck. I have got asfbin 1.7.1, CutAssistant and the VCM driver from Microsoft. When I run CutAssistant with the -rkf option and try and trim off the first 4 minutes of the recording, it just gives the 'Decompression error: VCM decoding driver is not available' error, even though I've installed the wmv9VCMsetup.exe driver, and even copied over the wmv9vcm.dll to the asfbin folder with no luck. It only cuts to the keyframes of every 30 seconds. Anyone know why my asfbin wouldn't be using the installed VCM driver? Maybe these types of WMV videos are not able to have frame accurate cuts done to them without re-encoding the whole thing. Any help is greatly appreciated. Here's the info on the videos I'm trying to cut:

video info: File Type: ASF (.WMA/.WMV) Sys Bitrate: 224 kb/s
    video codec: MSS2

audio info: 8 kbps, 8 kHz, mono
    audio codec: WMSpeech

Did you ever find a way of doing frame accurate edits of WMV files?

You have installed VCM/VfW codec for WMV9, but not for MSS2.

Can try to use ffdshow VfW.
    ffdshow video encoder configuration > Decoder > Codecs > MSS1/2 = wmv9

    Other...
Install Windows Media Encoder 9 and try Windows Media File Editor.

Hi, I have created a long time ago a software that allows WMV file frame accurate editing (cutting). It's called AsfBin. I am going to release soon a new version of both version Asfbin command line and GUI version. If you have any problems with using it, just let me know.
