  1. Hi,

I am converting the following file to a svcd

    Video : XVID 624x352 12bpp 23.976
    fps 1024.6kbps (125.1 kbyte/s)
    audiocodec: framecopy (format=55 chans=2 rate48000 bits=0 B/s=13524 sample-0)

I open the source file and choose the "save as" making sure there are no spaces or unusual characters. I choose the SVCD mpeg2enc to encode the files as i need to add subtittles. I choose "Decode with mplayer" I have checked the file plays ok and when i use the preview everything looks ok. The encoding goes fine until the very end when it says failed in red. Below is a copy of the information. The only error i can see is at the bottom which is

ERROR: could not stat() file `/Volumes/Stuff/Movies/Lost/Lost13/lost113:': No such file or directory

I can then burn the files using the .toc in missing media burner as I couldn`t figure out if it was possible using ffmpegX, it all seams to work fine but I would like to find out what the error means so that I can rectify it as the mentioned directory does exist. Your help is much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,
    Mal.

I can reproduce this error with very plain filenames.

It may have to do with the filename creation of the xml file, which contains illegal character ":" before the dot:

    Code:
++ WARN: (Super) VideoCD xml description created successfully as `/Volumes/Stuff/Movies/Lost/Lost13/lost113:.xml'

  8. Did you kept the mpg files? You may use the author tool on them to reauthor to SVCD images.

  9. Yes, I have them but used the .img file to burn the svcd.
    Cheers for the info.
