    Happy New Year everyone.

I'm trying to save the spoken output of a Google English-to-Spanish Translate session. You know, when you click the little megaphone, and a really professional (female) voice speaks the Spanish flawlessly? If possible I'd like to know how to do this using VLC Media Player.

I am soooo bad with streaming it isn't funny. Would anyone care to walk me through this step-by-step? I (obviously) know how to play Google's generated output; I just don't know at what point the one begins to record the other? Shouldn't VLC be started before? Thanks guys.

  2. Just record from the "what you hear" or "speakers" device. I would use audacity. It's free and easy to use for this.

Is that an option in the program?

  4. nope - this is option in Windows Mixer - usually mixed output is exposed as virtual "what you hear" input - you need select from input this particular one and later progress with Audacity as usual for recording - AFAIR you can select recording input from Audacity itself.
