The magic you want to do needs ...... timecode ! each camera records the same timecode later in post you sync them with that, or a plugin will do this for you.
the cheapest way will be to film a clap by all cameras, (this will be told in the Pinnacle manual) but you should not pause any camera in the meantime.
All other softwre is pro software and not for free.
This feature you want to do is no amateur feature..... but has an amateur solution see above.

    Not necessarily just timecode.
To be TRULY in sync with each other (down to the leading edge of each frame), you need cameras (and possibly A/D capture cards) that can genlock. Either Blackburst genlock sync (for SD sources) or Tri-level sync (for HD sources). And to do it properly, you'd need to use a MasterClock genlock sync source, feeding multiple cams in a direct star pattern, not daisy-chained/looped. And, of course, the cams would need to be switchable to accept external sync source.

Again, not only not free, but not cheap. This level of accuracy may not be necessary, depending on what/how you are shooting. IOW, if you were doing some musical concert or dance or action recording and you needed to switch perspectives in the editing, you had BETTER use genlocked cameras, unless you are VERY masterful & sly with your edits, otherwise there will be noticeable discontinuities at the edit point. Also, if you are doing live switching of said types.

Don't know of any freebies that do that, just paid software. But, since you've stated you don't need truly synchronous sources, you can always open up 4 instances of a recording app, set each one to a different camera, and then start+stop each one. For free. No need for "one button" requirement then.

You don't want to multicapture-record.... it also is unpractical and has never done before, bandwith wise you don't manage that..... say a camera has an output bandwith/datastream? of X, you need to multiply that... that's also a heavy bitstream (to have any quality), plus should this be mobile or in a studio environment ?
It's just one recording device with a mixer + sync links between camera(s) and mixer or each camera (recorder) records it's content witn a sync signal to be synced in post, there's no any other practical solution, otherwise it's not practical, to keep sound and picture in sync, HDMI is no solution, because most of the time sound is not used via HDMI. SDI is preferred in that case.
BMD equipment is affordable, and gives options, and you get the software with it for free
