  1. I just did a test with Nero CD Speed and it shows that my drive is writing at an average speed of 16.75x!!! I bought a 32x drive and its burning at 16.75x!! I have DMA enabled, and I am using Philips 40x certified CD-R Media. I've attached a screenshot of CD Speed. And heres the saved results from CD Speed. I tried upgrading to XS0X and I still get the same speed.

  2. You had me worried - here is my test - the firmware may be earlier?

  3. I think i solved the problem Kitty. I disabled CD Recording for my cd-rw drive in Windows XP and i did a test again and it sped up nicely. I got an average of 26.19x with an ending speed of 31.95x. Seems to be working fine now. I guess the problem was that i had CD Recording enabled, wierd.... Looks like theres yet another Microsoft bug...lol.

Btw, after viewing your screenshot, it seems that your drive has a faster ending speed while mine has a faster average speed. I have firmware XS0X, you have XS0R. Hmm....maybe they lowered the ending speed by .5 and raised the average speed by .03.

Thanx for the info and help.
