You will lose quality when converting to standard definition DVD. You can try ConvertXtoDVD, open the evo or m2ts from the hddvd or blu-ray and convert.

  4. You can't keep the quality. You lose too many pixels scaling from 1920x1080 => 720x480. Furthermore, MPEG2 has lower compression than h264, while reducing the bitrate (trying to fit on a DVD5), and you are transcoding a to a lossy format - compounding the quality loss

You can try FAVC which uses HCenc, it might be slightly better quality, but don't expect any miracles for the above reasons. Also try DVD9 which will allow you to increase the bitrate.

FAVC will be more accurate than ConvertXtoDVD, however you will still notice a very large reduction in picture quality simply because you are cutting the resolution by over 75% and re-encoding to a much lower bitrate

I am not sure how many ways you can be told - you cannot. Period. No more discussion. Can't be done.

  11. Here's an FAVC guide:

And what's with all the "&#305"? It's pretty annoying. Can't you make it stop.

roboroach, I know it may be a pain, but can you cut and paste your vowels on sites (or at least this one) that use a standard U.S. keyboard set? It seems as though your keyboard is outputting special characters that are not compatible with this board.
