    I have many avi films & I want to watch it on my home system, so before buying a DVD-writer, I want to know on average how many minutes would it take to make a DVD of a 2 hours movie on a 8X DVD writer(basically the whole process)

    Hi,

    i have just started doing the same, and have been getting a lot of help from these forums...

    i am onto adding subs now!

    basically the first conversion from AVI to DVD compatible files is the the time - sucker (approx 7 hours i average for a 700Mb AVI)

    this produced approx 5Gb of file which needs to be converted into AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS and then burnt.
