I work 35-40hrs a week...I guess as I have my own business and I don't count exactly how much hours I spend doing actual real work.

THanks to DereX888 for the poll.

I'm supposed to do 40 hours/week, and try to stick to that. If I work > 8 hours one day, I try to compensate for that at first opportunity.

Okay, it must be a dumb question, but what or who is "tgpo"?

Google suggests "TGPO autoantibodies (aAbs) that bind simultaneously to thyroglobulin (Tg) and thyroperoxidase (TPO)" which doesn't sound likely.

Usually about 45 hours a week. I'm a management employee and don't get paid for overtime, so I try to limit any work week to not over 40 hours. We also have a summer work schedule of (4) ten hour days. That's a long day, but also a nice long weekend.

    EDIT: TGPO from our glossary:
Short for The Great Pat-o. He is the coolest guy ever.

    I "work" "full-time" -- 80 hours per 2 week pay period.
However, I really wouldn't say that I actually perform 80 hours of work.

Luckily, that wasn't the question! Like right now...

  7. I would have to say that I no longer work full time. I've been self employed for about six years and during that time nearly all of my clients have closed up shop and/or moved out of Michigan. I only have a few clients left and work is sporadic at best.

I think Google explains best what a TGPO is. :P

I work 50-60 hours a week but I get the weekends off.

  9. Like redwudz, I'm salaried such get the same amount of "compensation" irrespective of the hours put in. I typically put in 50 hrs a week for my main job and probably 20 hrs or so a week on my sideline.

Caring for sick/dying relatives does not count as work according to our gov't so I get nothing for the 24 hours per day I put into it.....

  11. I used to work > 60 hours a week, in some very strange places, but that's all in the past now. Retirement is great.

    On average 60 hours/week, sometimes up to 95 hours/week.

I'm self-employed and we open a seasonal store from Oct. - Dec. 29 so I am working 12 hrs. a day 7 days a week. After Christmas I still work 7 days a week, but about 6 hrs. a day

40 hours here - 8am-5pm with an hour lunch break.

Thanks for filling in the gap baldrick I'll try to get back to more frequent polling. Holidays tend to throw my schedule off a bit.

  20. Great poll! My official paid work-week is 40 hrs., I'm a full time tech guy at a major university so I work your standard 8-5 M-F shift. Though I rarely get out of here at 5, not that I'm complaining, I love my job.

Along those lines (and possibly for another poll), how long are the work commutes people have out there? I ride my bicycle to work every day (even when it's cold and raining) and factoring in changing times and what-not, it's about a 45-50 minute trip each way, not too painful considering I'm getting my daily exercise in at the same time.
