"English teacher's joke:
A preposition is a terrible thing to end a sentence with."
Sorry, it's quite correct to have a preposition at the end of a sentence sometimes. Whatever book you are reading from is out of date.
For example, if you're in a store & a customer comes in it is alright to say
"What are you looking for?"
You don't expect them to say, "For what are you looking?" do you? -
I slept through English, so I don't know what a preposition is.
-
"UP" is a two letter preposition.... Not that anyone cares, I just thought I would throw that in for the sake of being a total ass! :P
8x @ 8x DVD+R

I'd like to see a speedtest of a 4xPrinco (a full one, 4.37GB) burned at 8x in a Liteon or Toshiba DVD-ROM if it can be read at 12x-16x.
You stop me again whilst I'm walking and I'll cut your fv<king Jacob's off. -
I have a question! @ which speed are you gauranteed a flawless burn, @least
out of every 50 discs you burn? Speed, burner and media used? -
Thanks for all the responses to my lesson in proper English. Unfortunately, I was NOT really trying to correct the world's use of prepositions in English. My intent was humor and I missed my mark; now I know better.
Also, to amend my original post, the speed I use to burn DVDs is not a BFD. It always precisely matches the manufacturer's suggested limit for the media being burned so I get perfect results every time.Usually long gone and forgotten -

I wouldn't mind waiting some extra minutes - but is it really worth it? Some technical insights will be very appreciated.Cosmin -

And to stay on topic:
I burn 8x on 4x Fuji (TY) dvd+r media with a Plextor 708A. -
I have a 4x max Optorite burner:
Most 4x advertised DVDRs at 4x.
Some especially crappy 4x advertised DVDRs at 2x.
Never used 2x advertised DVDR media and don't plan to.
DVD-RWs at 2x and DVD+RWs at 2.4x.
I think 4x is plenty fast for me so I don't mind not having an 8x burner.

And btw, I DID find TheFamilyMan's remark funny and not offensive. Some of you should lighten up.
