    Does anyone out there recommend a VCR that skips tv commercials? I have some old VCR tapes that i wanna transfer to DVD, and editing out commercials would help me out immensely. I know some of the JVC SVHS recorders on ebay supposedly remove commercials. Also, what about software that removes commercials? Does it work well?

    https://www.comskip.org/ mostly works but in all of these ad skipping software sometimes you need to manually adjust, a bit like subtitle OCR software. TSDoctor has it built in or rather needs it in their tool collection. Comskip can NOT read copy protected recordings. I don't know of any VCR players that does it. No one uses them in Australia where I'm based
