Not really. Your source has Variable Frame Rate which sometimes gives problem - but I would be surprised if that's the case for AVStoDVD.

I was thinking of trying one more time converting the good AVI to mpg
You really should avoid re-encoding more than once since ever (loosy) re-encode means a loss in quality.

You could try re-muxing the original source with AviDemux. Use "Copy" for Video-/Audio-output and Avi-muxer for "Output format" and try that in DIKO (which I know nothing about)
When you say "re-muxing the original source" do you mean the mp4 or the mpeg with issues?

When using Avidemux do i just load the file select the settings and hit play? I've never used it before.

Go back to Preferred DirectShow Filters tool and select LAV Filters (or ffdshow) insted of Microsoft. Very likely the audio issues will disappear.

    Bye
Thanks I will give that a try after the demuxing if it doesnt work. Should I select LAV filters for all?

I loaded the mpeg i had converted and I hit play on avidemux and im assuming its demuxing. Is it right for the audio to play faster than the video?

Assuming I did it right it didnt work. It actually made it worse. The audio was faster than the video both during and in the output.

    Bye
I selected LAV for all filters ended up getting same output as usual. The audio and video are still out of sync. Here is the log.

    Bye
    Did you take a look?

I gave up trying for now with the original source file. I grabbed a new one and went ahead and used it in the project. I would very much like to find out though what is causing this error. DIKO crashed on me with another h.264 720p mp4 similar to the file used here. It would start up encoding with FreeENC then crash about third the way through. Just like before with the other file.

Anyone have any more suggestions? Hopefully _MrC_ will take a look for me too.

    Thanks

For out of synch video/audio with a variable frame rate source file change the video source filter to ffmpegsource.

Start a new avstodvd project. Open Preferences/avisynth tab
Set AVS video source filter to FFmpegsource and OK out.

Add your video file and proceed as normal.

If it's still bad provide the new log

  8. In addition to dave' suggestion, I would also recommend to uninstall ffdshow, since you have also installed LAV Filters. Having both of them is redundant and may cause conflicts in directshow decoders chain.

davexnet: It looks like I already deleted the file, cant find any other copies. I will keep youre suggestions in mind next time this happens.

_MrC_: Hello there. Thanks for your reply! I just uninstalled ffdshow and configured the rest of LAV to take control of everything.
