  1. Hello, dear all.

I have a video file that contains some audio tracks and subtitles tracks.

The file is opened properly with VLC media player and mpv. Such programs can play all audio tracks + subtitle tracks without problems.

But when I open it using PotPlayer, only one track ( audio and /or subtitle ) can be played OK.

Are there any way to "help" PotPlayer play similar files without any problems? PotPlayer is my favorite player nowadays.

    Thanks.

    Best regards.

If you have file with multiple video audio streams, you can switch it by this icon. First on left.

Subtitle you can choose in Right mouse button on screen and choose which you want in subtitles section (needed have them enabled). I tested it but no subtitles here. Possibly you can change subtitle same way as video audio stream.

Edit: o.k. I have to admit, it displays first subtitle. (DVB) if srt, no problem to change them.

  3. FORCE POTPLAYER TO USE LAV filters as external codecs for video audiio and default splitter..
    • First download & Install external codecs/filters.
    • In this case LAV filters
    • When installation is done, open PotPlayer settings
    • click "Filter management"
    • click "scan"
    • click "OK"

    Global Filter Priority
    • Click "Add registered filter"

    • Select "LAV Audio Decoder"
    • Click "OK"

    • Similarly add "LAV Splitter", "LAV Splitter Source" and "LAV Video Decoder"
    • Set "Priority" to "Prefer" for each of the filters

    • Click "Apply" and then "OK"

  4. Hi, dear all.

    Thanks for the tips!

I forgot to say: not only subtitles are not properly displayed concerning several tracks available, but when I open the video file using PotPlayer, the sound does not appear!

Only the video! Mute. No sound! Any other files runs without problem. Audio and video. I think it's not a codec problem.

Why VLC media player and mpv can process properly the audio + video + subtitles in this particular file and PotPlayer does not?

    Best regards.

    Hi,
no, I don't see any problem, why it can't be played in Potplayer.

Hello, dear all. I made some other tests and sometimes the problem appears.

Not for all files. Just for only a few ones. Maybe the video "format / extension" is the issue? Or codec?

Curious that such "strange" files open correctly when I use VLC media player, mpv or MPC-BE. Both of them are portable.

I should try the advices that teodz1984 point before and see if I can solve such odd behavior.

    Thanks for your time!

    Best regards.
