    When you are burning a 74 min CD as an audio CD, check how much capacity the original WAV files take. It will be a bit over 740 MB... and yes, this WILL fit on a 74min/650MB CD-R without overburning.

    There are different modes of CD burning. For ordinary data (i.e., 650 MB on a 74min CD), a reasonable amount of the CD capacity is lost to error correction codes. There is significantly less error correction in Video CDs and even less still in audio CDs, which does mean greater user data capacity.

    In general, however, you cannot burn ordinary data as a CD-ROM in the modes used for VCDs or audio CDs (the exception is with the XCD method).
