TDK Japan announced a new series of DVD-R/RW media with improved protection up to 100 times against dust/scratches. TDK said that burned DVD-R media has now the durability of common DVD media. The new media has no big difference in appearance, and TDK claims that even when it rubs against steel wool etc. strongly, a crack or scratche cannot happen very easily!
The new media has the following ID codes:

- DVD-RW120HCN (Price 1,080 yen 1 piece)

- DVD-R47HCNx5N (Price 3,280 yen 1 piece)
