I'm aware it won't do everything a real HTPC can do, that's why my main living room has an HTPC.
But my needs in the exercise room in the basement are nowhere near as grandiose.
That said, the D-Link DSM-320 just isn't cutting it. Too many bugs, too much stuttering on DivX/XviD, no x264, etc.
The Netgear EVA8000 looks like a nice compromise between a cheesy DSM-320 and a full blown HTPC. Anyone tried it?
I'm especially curious about its H.264 capability. Can it play H.264/x264 files with the mkv container? Or is it limited to the mp4 container?
I've googled "EVA8000" and nothing mentions this, yea or nay.
Anyone here tried one and like to share thoughts?
Thanks!
